East Timor still needs assistant from UN to maintain national and international security. There is a need to improve PNTL and F-FDTL’s capacity, this way people can feel safe, and most of all prevent political crisis in the future. And through UN presence here East Timor National Security could be more professional. Thanks!!!
It is necessary to improve professionalism of PNTL and FDTL through a sustainable and durable tranning particular in relation to capacity building.
In the future , we all expecting that PNTL & FDTL will act in accordance with the basic principle laid down in our constitution, maintain impartiality and taking a crucial role in developing the country.
The security reform conducting by UNMIT in conjuntion with ET government must reflect the national interest of the country , it must accommodate the divergence opinion from civil society based on the nature of East Timor social culture.
It’s good to maintain UN here because they have done some good things to East Timor however some UN practices need to be revised. Thanks!!!
