The World Bank Group Office in Timor-Leste is pleased to invite the media to a press conference that will present the findings of the joint World Bank and IFC publication, Doing Business 2010: Reforming through Difficult Times. Find out how economies in the region rank, where it is easiest to do business, and which economies reformed the most over the past year.

The annual Doing Business reports catalyze policy debates and support governments in creating conditions that encourage business and job creation as well as revenue generation. The Doing Business database provides objective measures of business regulations and their enforcement. Doing Business indicators, comparable across 183 economies, indicate the regulatory costs of business and can be used to analyze specific regulations that enhance or constrain investment, productivity, and growth. Doing Business compares regulatory performance in 10 areas, allowing policymakers to learn from global best practices and prioritize reforms.

This year’s report updates indicators developed in the six preceding reports. For more information, visit www.doingbusiness.org.

Advance copies of the report and press releases will be available at the briefing.
